Forget Not Journal (“the App”) helps you capture memories and receive on-this-day reminders. We designed the App so your journal stays under your control.
What we collect (minimal, purpose-based)
- Account info (optional): If you create an account or sign in, we store a Firebase user ID and (if provided) your email address.
- Subscription & purchase data: Apple processes payments. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and manage your subscription status (i.e., whether Plus is active). RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and an app-specific identifier.
- Diagnostics: Basic, anonymous crash/operational data to improve reliability.
- Support messages: If you email us, we receive whatever you send (e.g., email address, message content, screenshots).
We do not collect, upload, or sell your journal entries. Your entries remain on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud Drive.
Where your data lives
- Journal entries & photos: Stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Backup, backups are saved to your iCloud Drive (under your Apple ID) and are encrypted by Apple.
- Account & subscription status:
- Firebase (Google): authentication (account/email).
- RevenueCat: subscription entitlements and receipt validation.
- Apple App Store: billing records.
- Notifications: The App uses local notifications; no push token is sent to us.
How we use data
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
- Determine Plus access (trial/active/cancelled) and unlock Plus features.
- Deliver on-device reminders you schedule.
- Diagnose crashes and improve the App.
- Respond to support requests.
We do not show third-party ads and do not engage in cross-app tracking.
